ISWM

Enabling the Circular Economy in developing economies through Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM).

Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) is a comprehensive waste prevention, recycling, composting, and disposal program.  An effective ISWM system considers how to prevent, recycle, and manage solid waste in ways that most effectively protect human health and the environment.

Benefits of ISWM

1

Cleaner and safer neighbourhoods

2

Higher Resource use efficiency

3

Resource Augmentation

4

Saving in SWM costs due to reduced levels of final waste for disposal

5

Better Business opportunities and economic growth

6

Local ownership & resposibilities

Under Swachh Bharat (“Clean India Mission”) process of collecting and treating solid waste is critical. However, solid-waste management presents complex technical challenges requiring attention to details on a a wide variety of administrative, economic, and social problems. ‍

Based on the principle of “Circular Economy”, I3X’s ISWM (Integrated Solid Waste Management) employs modern waste management practices of sorting, treating, recycling of waste to manufacture useful products and converting large part of waste into energy. ‍

Our ISWM focuses on transforming current practices adopted by the unorganized sector to technology-driven, modern management approach to MSW. Driven by environment and sustainable goals, our mission is to address severe environment problems for the greater good.

PM MODI’S CLEAN INDIA & GOI POLICIES

PM Modi’s promise:

Solve alarming hygiene issues. Reduce air/water pollution, clean up over 3,000 landfills Government of India’s (GOI) policies supporting ISWM efforts, including the availability of concessions, subsidies and financial guarantees.

NATIONAL GREEN TRIBUNAL

National Green Tribunal (NGT) has begun to play a vital role in enforcing minimum emissions, requiring polluters to pay towards sustainability (e.g., in the form of EPR – extended producer responsibility). NGT enforcing implementation of ISWM.

GLOBAL WARMING

Over200 countries got together at COP-26 to express concern about global warming.GOI (Government of India)  also took contribution targets. ISWM identified as a potent and immediate method to reduce global warming, methane gas from MSW and find/promote alternatives to fossil fuel.

INCENTIVES FOR ISWM

GOI has allocated about USD 10 billion towards Clean India in 2022-23 fiscal budget and devised rules in 15th Finance Commission’ with a strong emphasis on closely monitoring performance for ISWM, ensuring ISWM participants get paid and are profitable.
